Book Review: Influencing With Integrity, Genie LaBorde (02/02 Review)
How good is it? I've lent my copy out and not had it returned -
twice! Ms. LaBorde has put together one of the most readable books
on communication and rapport building I've seen. Learn how to clarify
communication with the Five Finger Pointers technique. Learn about
eye-accessing cues and what insights they may give you into someone's
preferred "programming" or communication styles. If you
like some of the more technical information about the communication
process, she provides it without too much jargon or stuffy writing
style. The graphics (though in black and white) are superbly done.
There are a few color pictures to illustrate skin tone changes but
are not of the best quality. The use of labels ("Kinesthetics",
"Visuals") for people I find useful for illustration purposes
only. One of the elegant aspects of NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming)
is not labeling people. The book is packed full of real life examples.
The last publication date for this fine book is 1997. I was able
to get my third copy through Amazon.com.
